This study examined the impact of exchange rate volatility on gems & jewellery and textile exports of India from 1993M4 to 2013M3. Using auto-regressive distributive lag (ARDL) co-integration technique, it found that exchange rate volatility did not have any impact on gems and jewellery as well as on textile exports in the long run. The findings of our study suggested that a stable exchange rate may not guarantee the promotion of gems and jewellery and textile exports from India ; other factors are also important, which need to be investigated.Downloads
